We are pleased to invite you to our event, "The Museum: an open and innovative space for participatory sciences."
This half-day of discussions will take place on March 10, 2025, at the Château de Morges, from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Bridging the gap between science and society, museums have the unique ability to initiate innovative participatory research projects, leveraging their research, collections, exhibitions, and mediation initiatives. These projects span the fields of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Following an introduction on the challenges and principles of participatory sciences in Switzerland, we will offer participatory workshops to explore past and ongoing projects. This will provide an opportunity to discuss the design of participatory science projects, as well as related issues of funding and impact.
This event is aimed at museum and organizational teams involved in management, conservation, and mediation. The afternoon will begin with two keynote speeches: one by Alain Kaufmann, Director of the ColLaboratoire at UNIL, and another by Tiina Stämpfli, Deputy Director of the Science et Cité Foundation. Participants will then have the opportunity to engage in three discussion workshops led by representatives from institutions, researchers, and experts in participatory sciences.
Attendance is free, but registration is required.
The event is co-organized by the Réseau roman Science et Cité, the Château de Morges, and Interface, UNIL's partnership research support fund, with the support of the ColLaboratoire and the Science et Cité Foundation.
