Does laughing at climate change help us think about it more clearly? Democratic and accessible, editorial cartoons and comics often help distill complex issues, while using humor to create a unique space for freedom—and even subversion. How can visual humor reveal our contradictions and challenge our political and social choices in the face of the ecological crisis? How does it shape our sensibilities and our imaginations? This roundtable will also examine the role of cultural institutions in fostering debate around these representations and their ability to nurture critical thinking and civic engagement.
